Lisa Samuel SYAP Scholarship

Award:

  • Recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship
  • Scholarship Committee will work with the recipient and their family to determine how to disperse funds (i.e. one-time payment of $1,000 or two $500 payments each semester)
  • Award will be dispersed directly to the academic program

Eligibility:

  • Student must be graduating from Sheridan High School
  • Student must have benefited directly (participated) in the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program while attending Sheridan Community Schools
  • Plans to attend a post-secondary educational program or institution (four-year, two-year, technical, or certificate program)

Selection Process:

  • Selection committee will be the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program Scholarship Committee. The Committee will consist of SYAP Board Members plus at least one school official and the SYAP
  • Early Intervention Advocate
  • Selection committee may request applicants to participate in an in person interview

  • In addition to completing the Common Application, applicant will answer the following prompts
  • Please list all areas of school involvement
  • Please share your plans/goals for after high school graduation
  • Please explain your participation in the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program
  • Please share how your participation in the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program has impacted yourself and your family
